Calino (“Calino”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how the Calino mobile application and related services (collectively, the “App” or “Services”) collect, use, disclose, and protect information about you.

This Privacy Policy applies to users age 17 and older. If you are under 17, do not use the Services.

1. Summary

We collect:

  • Information you provide (such as name, username, email, and customer support messages).
  • Information collected automatically (such as device information, usage statistics, and crash logs).
  • Location information only if you allow it (precise or approximate).
  • Cookies and similar technologies where applicable (for login and preferences; may include web beacons).
  • Photos you choose to use in the App, if any, processed only for the requested feature; we do not perform face recognition or biometric identification.

We use information to provide and maintain the Services, personalize your experience, improve the Services, keep the Services secure, provide support, and comply with law.

We do not sell your personal information.

2. The Services

Calino helps you discover the art of coffee brewing by logging details such as bean type and extraction time, comparing parameters, saving recipes, and sharing your perfected recipes so you can replicate your favorite brews.

3. Information We Collect

3.1 Information You Provide

We may collect information you submit directly, including:

  • Account information: name, username, and email address.
  • Customer support content: messages and any information you choose to include when you contact support.
  • Content you create or upload for your brewing logs/recipes (e.g., text notes, parameters, and photos), depending on the features you use.

3.2 Information We Collect Automatically

When you use the Services, we may collect:

  • Device and technical information: device model, operating system version, language settings, app version, identifiers (such as a device or app instance identifier), and network information.
  • Usage data: interactions with the App, feature usage, and basic diagnostics.
  • Crash logs and performance data: to diagnose and fix reliability issues.

3.3 Location Information (Optional)

If you grant permission, we may collect location information (precise or approximate, depending on your device settings) to support location-related features. You can turn off location access in your device settings at any time.

3.4 Cookies and Similar Technologies

If any part of the Services is accessed through a web interface (for example, a website related to the Services), we may use cookies and similar technologies to:

  • Keep you logged in.
  • Remember preferences.
  • Measure and improve performance (where applicable).

These technologies may include web beacons or similar tracking pixels. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though some features may not work properly without cookies.

If you choose to upload or use photos:

  • We do not perform face recognition and we do not derive or store biometric identifiers or biometric information.
  • Photos are used only to provide the feature you request.
  • Where server-side processing is used, content is processed one time and deleted promptly after processing (see Section 4).
  • By default, your content is stored locally on your device unless you choose to upload or sync it as part of a feature you initiate.
  • We do not use your photos for advertising/marketing, and we do not use your photos to train models.

4. Optional AI-Assisted Features (If Enabled by You)

Some features may offer optional AI-assisted processing (for example, generating or enhancing log text, extracting structured details from text or images, or generating suggestions). If you choose to use these features:

  • What is processed: only the text and/or images you intentionally submit for that AI-assisted request.
  • Where it is processed: the submitted content is processed on Calino’s own servers (not a third-party AI provider).
  • Sharing: we do not share the submitted text/images with any third party for AI processing, and we do not sell or rent such content.
  • Deletion: after processing is completed, the submitted text/images are deleted promptly from our processing systems, except as needed to deliver the requested output to you.
